Between the beginning of June and the end of December 2016 PS4 outsold 3DS by more than 6M, so even outselling it again by the same amount and not more, it will outsell it lifetime by the end of this year. Most likely in December, when sales are the highest, or between BF and the end of November thanks to very high USA sales, but BF is not as big in the rest of the world as it is in USA, so December is more likely.
