That's assuming that it's a zero-sum game. If it's competition based, yes, but cooperation based is not zero-sum. And in order to have cooperation, there needs to be equal standing to avoid one side dominating the other.

No, progressives are not the far left. Anarchists, communists, socialists, that's the far left. Progressives are centre-left.

 

No way, those would be the extreme left, the authoratarian left. Obama/Clinton are center left. I'm going to assume as a progressive that you believe in most if not all the following;

 

-universal free health care

-tax rate for the rich above 40% (redistribution to the bottom)

-probably strict gun control with limited or no civilian gun access

-$15 min wage

-slashing of the overseas military budget and substantially cutting overseas bases

-substantial investments in fighting climate change 

-legalizing all drugs

-legalizing prostitution

-reparations for african americans

-cultural appropriation is a thing

-late term abortions

-affirmitive action

 

...and so on. Added togethe these arent center left beliefs, these are far, far left.
