Are you trying to tell me that after all the #WinterIsHere tweets, advertisements and mentions from the GOT marketing team, that Winter is actually NOT fully here and the the real Winter storm is season 8!!!! On a more serious note, i actually believe you could be right, it makes sense for all the "side quests" and other political storylines to be finished off only to realise at the end that they should of listened to the North and that none of their issues mattered as Winter really is coming then season 8 to focus on what should be the biggest, longest war of the whole season. |
As insane as the budget is I don't think they'll be able to afford portraying Winter properly. Winter actually started getting bad when Stannis was at the Wall with Jon. Yet, even now in the north on the showwe see maybe six inches of snow a sopposed to the six feet one would expect. For example, back when Reek jumps off a wall into feet of snow works, a dusting is just asking for broken legs and ankles.
If they holding back then yes, you have seen nothing of what Winter is and why the North prepares for it for years. Imagine Winter in Siberia type place going on for years (winter varies so could be a year, could be ten). That cycle would leave a mark seeing it a few times in your life.
