perhaps the US shouldn't have replaced a democratically elected PM with an eratic and brutal dictator/monarch in 1953 (the CIA documents on this are public), just to get american/british petrol corps a 50% cut of Iran's oil revenue

he obviously was replaced by a hardcore theocratic regime in 1979, which as a result was very much anti-US/West

the theocratic takeover in Iran prompted the US to back Saddam Hussein, which led to the rest of the middle eastern chaos
