That's wrong actually. The literal reason AAA video games exist is to be sold. The publisher does not give a flying fuck if you actually play it. That's especially true for SP games without micro transactions. By being sold, the piece of plastic has fulfilled its purpose.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
