Okay so I've come down to these choices for a new monitor.

1080p:

1440p:

I've only taken a quick look and I'm sad to say that I'd go with the Asus PG279Q (I say I'm sad because it's the most expensive one). It seems to give you all you're looking for except for being 1440p, plus it's an IPS monitor and the factory calibration seems to be quite good.

If you can, search for users opinions for more, and real, info about those monitors.

Curse you Nvidia and Asus, curse you all.

The 1080p Predator one has my interest, but yeah, the 1440p Asus one has what I'm looking for. The price isn't so bad, there are some that are onwards of £800-995. The only reason why I wanted to stick to 1080p was to max out the majority of game settings while still keeping well above 60fps (I know you can with games at 1440p, but not everything and I'd rather not have to dial back settings until at least 3-4 more years from now).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
