Could Apple or Nintendo make VR mainstream?

I agree, Nintendo's insistence on cheaper hardware is a limiting factor.

Perhaps it's due to bad graphics because that resolution is better than the Vive and Rift. Apple would only have to make a head set dock for the phone to slip in, I don't see why they would charge more than Samsung for it, so it should be in the region of $100.

They will charge more because it says Apple. They will also hype it like it is the first of its kind and revolutionary.
