That's just one example of the use of a wall that you can see the other side of. The most obvous one would be seeing peopel approachig the wall, so you can intercept them sooner. Otherwise you would only see someone when they are on top of the wall. Or what about people digging a hole. If you couldn't see the other side, people could just walk up to teh wall and start diggin and the U.S. woudl be none the wiser.

Or ya know, just don't build a wall.......and use that money towards universal healthcare.  Most illegal immigrants come from expired visas anyways, so the wall wouldn't even fix the issue it's trying to fix.
