I felt that the console remake of advance wars had the building blocks of a really fun online squad base game. That was fun as well.

Advance Wars Delux would be nice to have.

You talking about Battalion Wars?  I played the second one on Wii but never got the GC version.  It was a pretty fun RTS.  The flying of planes on Wii version was hindered a little because they tried to make use of motion controls but it didn't work as well as something like Wii Sports Resort flying mini game.  Overall it was a fun game and I even played online a few times.  What would be cool is if they did something like Total War with Advance Wars and Battalion Wars.  Merge the two games together so you have troop building and turn based moves but then when you start combat it goes into a 3D battlefield with ability to perhaps perform a little better than just the basic medium tank attacks light tank gives 6 damage and takes 3 or whatever.
