English isn't my main language but isn't"insult" a synonym to "offend"? And she offended people, she didn't harass anyone, so you agree she shouldn't be punished in any way? |
But then the issue arises that what can be interpreted as harassment. Can specifically calling out someone as an idiot be considered harassment because you specifaclly targeted the person, and if this could be considered harassment, would there be any justifiable context to say calling someone an idiot is the right thing to do? Harassment is a never ending issue because everyone has a different definition. Whereas the lady is said she's being harassed for peeing on a flag, some feel harassed in a sense that she basically insulted the country they hold dear to them. Both responses on both sides are wrong to me, but that's why these issues always arise.
Me personally, I'm fine with nearly any free speech as long as it doesn't incite violence (example being Kathy Griffin). If it DOES promote violence against the other side, I have a problem with it.
