5 years of not really taking vacations? What? Wow... Not possible in Germany. I have 28 days of vacation time which I need to plan throughout the year. And I have to take it. There are few exceptions, but that's how it is being done here.
Also.. I belong to the few people who have the shortest way to work. Wake up in my bedroom and move on room more to my office room :) Home-office contract ftw!!

Is it hard separating home life from work life doing that?

It depends on each person. I can easily forget about work when the 8 hours are over. Not doing overtime. But there are times when there's not really much to do, so.. say hello to my switch. I can take a break whenever I want, so when I am doing so, I go over to the living room, and chill on my PC or whatever.

No one is really watching over me. What counts is that I deliver when I have to do so.

The best part is, that I don't have to get up early and drive to work and back and waste 2 hours each day.

Edit: I can act so freely, because I am currently still a single. With a wife and kids, this would be very difficult, because children at a young age don't really understand that you have to work and be alone in your office room. So, that could be distracting.
