Nevertheless, model quality is less of a differentiator between the different sim games these days. Above its peers, GT really shines (excuse the pun) in its global illumiation, shaders, and materials when it comes to the art side of things.

This is somewhat anecdotal to me in that the graphical fidelity is starting to diminish more and more from one console generation to the next. I wonder how long it would be until it comes to the point where developers will only have to make just several tweaks to in-game models, again, from one genreation to the next.
