Yeah I also felt Double Dash was a step in the wrong direction as it reduced the accessibility of the series by overcomplicating it.

And I'm sure we're not alone; GCN sold 10 million less than the N64 after all.

Double Dash is one of the best Mario Karts, ofcourse this is just opinion, Gamecube was a beast, made my PS2 look like a joke.
