Eeeehm, no? You can crack steam games just as fine. You can also buy the game and then just download a cracked copy. And then there is of course GOG which has a large enough library to forego steam altogether.

I agree. But if you don't want to make any illegal stuff like downloading cracked games, you are stuck with using Steam. GOG is great but still it lacks a lot of games presented in Steam right now.
