Well only if you think running the Xbox brand to the ground deserves praise. It feels like the Xbox brand is going deeper into obscurity, the Xbone S is losing against PS4 Slim every month in its home turf, and a $500 console without exclusives ain't gonna win against PS4 Pro.

Games sell consoles, the more the better. Games like Horizon, Persona 5, Nioh, Nier etc have all contributed to the 7M units sold in 5 months, year over year growth achievement of PS4. And the PS4 keeps on winning with yuuge exclusives like Crash Bandicoot.

The "power game" was only relevant at the early years of the gen, 1080p was a big deal back then after 7-8 years of (sub) 720p. Now people just care much more about games. MS has learned the wrong lessons of why the PS4 won. The thing about 4K is that it's too early, not too many people have 4K tvs, even if they did, the casual consumer doesnt give a shit about true 4K or dynamic 4k. The only way for MS to set itself apart is to have exclusives.

It's a shame what Phil Spencer has done because Xbox could've had a serious comeback against Sony by going early with a real Xbox 2.
