FF and DQ aren't even close to turn based strategy! Turn based RPGs, yeah. But strategy? Not even close. You need base building, unit recruiting, different factions to choose from and a main aim of defeating all opposing factions to be a strategy game. FF/DQ don't have a single one of them.

If you want to split hairs that much then yes.

Doesn't mean though that there is any less strategy involved in them.
