Universal acceleration is a concept in flat earth models that states that the flat earth is accelerating at 9.8 m/s^2.  It attempts to replace our concept of gravity.  In our framework of physics, your explanation is correct and we can measure the difference with a good enough scale.  I don't know how the flat earth model reconciles that with their universal acceleration though.  They conveniently avoid it.

Wouldn't that mean Earth will eventually reach the speed of light?  And if so, what is our current speed in relation to the non-moving space outside?

They use a claim from special relativity that the speed of an object can only come close to the speed of light.  The idea is that an object with mass will require increasing energy to maintain acceleration and infinite energy to reach the speed of light.  This means that the universal acceleration must be creating more energy every second which is a clear violation of the conservation of energy.  I don't think they acknowledge that though.

There's a surprising amount of depth to flat earth models that describes most of those situations, but I haven't heard a reasonable explanation for satellites.  They're typically written off as a large-scale deception created by the government.

FE believe those are weather balloons. if you do some research then you will find that there are thousands and thousands floating around for some fucked up reason.. theres also wheater balloons that carry satellites (https://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/thumbnails/image/launch.jpeg)

That's a lot of balloons.
