I mean our CBC (government owned, and one I personally don't always like) would NEVER grind out a story like this. I remember the senate scandal a few years, and the coverage on that was while fair, not way way way way way way way way excessive. 

That's the advantage of state-sponsored (but not controlled) media. They have a specific mandate to inform, not to garner the most attention possible by all means.
