That's a great plan! Instead of offering a Switch mini that can play 98% - 99% of the Switch catalog without accessories (and 100% if you buy a pair of joy-cons) make a separate platform and split up development teams again!

...why do you have to split up development teams? Do you have to split up development teams to make the docked and undocked mode of the Switch?  I said in my original pitch that this would effectively be a new optional operating mode for the switch that can be developed for along side the Switch or seperate from the Switch depending on the game that strips out a lot of Switch features such as Joy con support, multi-controller support, different operating modes etc. It would be far less work to support than it would be to develop a PS4/XB1 multiplatform game.

So..........you're basically saying the same thing? Increase the number of devices in the Switch family rather than an entirely new platform?

I'm having a hard time following what you're proposing at this point, you're saying it's a seperate platform than proceeding to describe essentially the same thing as others with minor differences.
