I finally bought the game I wanted to buy since its release. DOOM is every bit as fun as I always imagined. It's fluid, responsive, looks great, actually utilizes all of my CPU threads and it's simply fun.
I only played it for half an hour so I can't say much about gameplay but it does have weapon upgrades and neatly designed areas that reward exploration so it should be amazing.
I can only hope id doesn't take decades again to develop their next game because they got shit figured out yo..
I'm playing at 1440p Ultra and variable framerate between 120 and 144fps btw. In the starting area it dropped down to 60fps due to adaptive vsync but even that felt fine.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
