Switch isnt 9th generation, if it spends most of its lifetime competeing against the PS4/XB1 that are considered 8th gen. Switch belongs to the same generation it spends most of time with.
Also apart from being portable, I dont think the Switch, in terms of graphics is able to do 1 thing that the PS4/XB1 cant. Nothing that makes you go "okay this is next gen stuff". |
If it was to do with the technology inside, then the 2DS/3DS/Wii U wouldn't have been lumped in with the Playstation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.
And if it was about the technology inside, then the Switch would be Generation 8 as that is where it's hardware feature set relative to the competition sits.
