Explain to me what stops the US from investing in green energy whether they are in the Paris deal or not?

"Anticipating Trump’s announcement, in early May, 25 major U.S. companies — including Apple, Facebook, Mars Incorporated and Morgan Stanley — published a full-page letter in several newspapers that read: “By expanding markets for innovative clean technologies, the agreement generates jobs and economic growthU.S. companies are well positioned to lead in these markets. Withdrawing from the agreement will limit our access to them and could expose us to retaliatory measures.”"

Pulling out of Paris will result in creating jobs in China that could have been created in the United States. And China have siezed this opportunity to become the world leader on this front. They have invested the most (hundreds of billions) into this job sector just in the recent years and the three largest providers of solar panels are already solely Chinese companies. Pulling out of the agreement is part of it, but Trump's reasoning is also an issue. He does it to save a few coal and oil jobs, which are doomed anyway and have been in decline for decades.

So a few private corporations now dictate an entire country?

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
