Well, it won't take long for use to see how real is that claim.

Samsung seems to have managed it, for smartphone chips, and they share their tech with Glo-Fo.

It does seem likely Samsung will manage to release pseudo 7 nm mobile chips on 2018, and it would make sense for bigger chips from AMD to come on the same node by 2019, but wasn't GloFo developing their own pseudo 7 nm stuff, based off IBM's design, or something like that?

I don't know. IBM, GloFo and Samsung have worked together for years to develop new nodes, and GloFo and Samsung partnered to share technology a couple of years ago or so, so I don't see why GloFo would do their own thing when they can use what they already have.

Unless Samsung's 7nm process isn't good enough for high power chips, like what happened with the 20nm node that was only used for smartphone SoCs.
