Can we have Physical to Digital Next Generation?

The first time you put the disc in you can do this, afterwards you no longer need the disc :) 

And the disc is essentially useless as the console would have writen on the disc telling it that the licence is no longer tied to the disc but your console right?

As mentioned before, a writeable disc. So if you want to sell the game, you'd have to put the disc back in and essentially turn off the digital rights as the licence goes back on the disc?
