The problem here is that they are both chasing 4K, so effectively that power is being wasted on resolution and not new features. Having to get upto 4K takes more than these consoles have available, for very little gain. So a 1440 and 2000 (whater it is) resolution will look very very similar but take so much resources to get there. |
Hopefully next gen stays targeting 4k, then all that extra juice can go for details, AI, framerate and whatever else. It would just be wastefull to go any higher than 4k, while now most people cant tell the diference.
