I read a Forbes blog article about this and i kinda see wherethe article and Spencer is coming from. And if it isn't abuse of its market position then it's coming close.
The thing that irks me most about one of the things Sony has done is to not fully back crossplay, particularly with Rocket League. They have Crossplay between PS4 and PC, but they are not implementing it with Xb one or Switch. I think this is bad. They are also not doing cross play for Minecraft. And I don't buy their reasoning for it.
As for exclusive DLC content in multiplat games. I don;t know MS or Spencer's history on this so don't know if he's being a hypocrit. But as a gamer I don't like it when exclusive content in multiplats is denied to me permanemently because of an exclusive deal with a different platform. So I don't support Sony doing that sort of exclusivity deal. I don't give a crap about timed exclusive content in multiplats since I am not a person who has to have all the bells and whistles they day they come out. So long as it does eventually come to all platforms.
It's all well and good for Spencer to complain about this stuff, because he inherited Xbox when it was up shit creek without a paddle. Xbox is doing muchg better, but it is still in a weak position relative to PS4. So we can see his strategy when he's playing from behind. I have no idea what his strategy would be when he's playing from ahead. Would he be tightening the screws to try to kill of PS completely (and doing all the things Sony is doing now and worse). Or would he be happy to let PS keep its smaller share of the pie?
You just never know what these people would do with the tables turned.
