As sad as it is that Monster Hunter(for us Western audiences) really isn't a selling point for the Switch anymore, I'm glad it's coming to PC, and that a game like this is even being made. It seems kind of risky considering the Western fanbase for the series is relatively new. But i'm happy. I've always wanted to get into Online grinding RPGs, but never got into MMOs. I loved MH4 online, but the DS configuration made it hard to take that step to socialize. This will finally give me that online RPG fix.
Besides the fact that the game seems like such a bold step forward for the series, I think what I'm most excited about is the fact that they're moving away from the Generations titles. Like a lot of people I started with 4 Ultimate. When Generations came out I heard it was more of the same - which honestly sounded perfect. The people whos aid that were wrong.
It was like a downgrade in almost every respect. There was no story, which I guess wasn't terrible in and of itself. But there was no real progression, it was like you were hoping around from one place to another, totally different from 4 where you did almost every mission before discovering a new interesting locale. Generations had such poor pacing too. And there was sooooo mannnny gathering quests. Even worse the Palico system made it so that gathering missions were pretty much filler because they were so easy to use by using the exploitative Palico system. But there was so many of them, so it basically boiled down to no challenge and wasted time. Even worse the game had a worse FPS than 4u. Just worse overall imo.
