I don't know, still looks kind of weird. Can't seem to shake that Sonic 06 feeling I've been having since the reveal trailer, even though I should know better because contrary to Sonic, Mario Odyssey actually comes from one of the best development teams out there. The hat thing seems like a cool mechanic, taking control of enemies and NPCs and using it for all kinds of jump tricks should open a barrel of new gameplay opportunities.
