I wouldn't say it was awful, they kept it short and Evil Within and Wolfenstein look interesting. Sure it certainly felt placeholder and lack of real surprises meant it wasn't the greatest showing, but that's in line with their new way of thinking, as far as I remember they've been revealing games and releasing them within a year for the most part.
Yeah, it would've been great to see Elder Scrolls 6, but really was anyone expecting it, it was 4 years between Skyrim and Fallout 4, I wouldn't expect a shorter gap and if they truly listen to the feedback they might actually build a new engine so it could be even longer.
It's disappointing to see them trying to go down the paid mods route again, hopefully it will be killed off as quickly as it was the first time.
