You do know that having a 144Hz screen doesn't mean having to run the games at 144fps, right? The extra refresh can help with ghosting even if you don't run the game at the monitor's refresh rate.

Oh I'm aware. I just don't want any drops below 60 and I've seen then with 1440p benches with the 1080ti before.

I don't know how many 27" monitors you'll find that are 1080p, high refresh and G-Sync. I'd guess that not as many as before.

Personally I am waiting until OLED comes to the desktop 'till I get a new monitor.

Unless you go for the Dell one that's already on the market, I'm affraid you'll have to wait a lot. Even years.

Have you considered the upcoming Asus and Acer ones with 4K, 144Hz, HDR10 and FALD (full-array local diming) with 384 zones?
