You've got a point there, the environment already exists.

But the fight I am talking about is not against the people who post drivel, but against the mod team on this specific issue. It's not acceptable that only you got called out. Even a tie would be a headscratcher.

The issue is the rules are too black and white, more judgement calls need to be made. Hell I remember predicting Splatoon would be lucky to reach 2 million. Was I posting a negative prediction to anger Nintendo fans or to push an agenda? Or was it something I actually believed? An easy way to discover that is if the user making such a post will actually discuss it. Can you ban someone for a bad prediction? No, but depending on the intention behind it yes, and intentions are not black and white.

Should someone be punished for being illogical, not having sound reasoning? No, but after the outcome they should be able to admit they're wrong. It's the people that make these sort of posts that turn out to be spectacularly wrong and then just pretend they never did it that are the issue. The people posting what they actually believe are willing to have a discussion on the matter and admit when they're wrong. Then there are people posting unsubstantiated predictions, opinions and other comments just to anger a certain group or just because they don't like a certain thing.

It's sad to see how lenient mods are with obvious bait threads. And even if they do something it's usually just adjusting the title or content a bit. No warning and never a ban. But dare post a slightly baity comment and you get the ban hammer.

I mean shouldn't they be way harder on threads than on posts?
