It was also ratified in 2016. GDDR6 was ratified in 2017.
HBM2 in Vega is going to have 409GB/s of bandwidth. So the low-cost HBM would be 327.2GB/s if it was on Vega. GDDR5X can push that. ;)

With that. It was only a proposal by Samsung. Not a real product.

I am thinking more for lower power draw and board size, for use in something like a Playstation Swap (or whatever).
I did put a IF in my statement about a console using HBM.
And I know this is not 100%.
