What I remember not liking about the ps1 was loading times. I remember Quake 2 pretty much loading all the time, used to really get on my nerves. While n64 cartridges did have decompressing times it didn't seem as bad. It was nice to just slap in a cartridge and see the game appear immediately on screen and only a short wait to get playing. However that said the high quality audio tracks on many ps1 games were great.
