I mainly bought xbox live gold because of the bonus games per month but have let my xbox live gold account lapse for about a month while I wait for a good price or bonus games I really want. I play 360 games on my xbox one quite a lot. Maybe this is because when xbox live gold lapses you can still play your 360 download games but not your xbox one download games so at the moment I'm restricted with regard xbox one titles that I have purchased at retail plus the 1 game (Elite Dangerous) that I have bought online that isn't a monthly bonus game.
I like to revisit games quite a lot rather than play a game to completion one at a time. I tend to play a game and get bored of it before completion and then move onto something else and come back later to it.
