Hopefully they also decide to use high end thermal paste as well. Without proper airflow the heatsink can only dissipate so much. They must have thought that through though, and have a fan size and speeds to compensate for that. The fan must be huge or must run at a high rpm to move enough air over that heatsink in order to pull away the heat without allowing the air to get too warm. With enough airflow the air temp wouldn't get all that high and wouldn't be such a big deal to blow through the components. Especially if they are using high end components that are rated for higher temps. If the shell is as small and compact as it looks like it might be, it'll be interesting to see how warm and loud it runs.

With how over-engineered the base Xbox one's cooling system is, I don't think we have much to worry about.

The great thing about blower-type vapour chamber coolers is they can dissipate a ton of heat, in a small amount of space, which is why GPU's tend to opt for it.

It will likely be noisier when compared to the base Xbox One though, but if Microsoft implements a proper fan curve it should be fairly silent whilst watching movies or on the dashboard which is when such things are important.
