 Anyways, back to my point, remember that the old Sony systems were weaker then their competion yet massively outsold its competition. Also, both the PS2 and original Xbox sold at $300 with the Xbox being the stronger of the 2 yet it was very much outsold. So im just pointing that out in reference to you claim that it was "only that price/power difference". Plus, like ive mentioned ad infinitum, dont you also think that Microsofts original shitty policies concerning used games and always online may have also played a large part in why the Ps4 took off to a massive head start?

I honestly do not think the original policies hurted them as much as the price/power difference but yes, it played a role for sure, would be hard to disagree with that. As far past generation, again, the disparity at first (including lunching at the same time or almost) did not happen like it happened with the PStation Four and Xbox One. 

For the general consumer (not fans or hardcore gamers), it was as simple as that: Two next gens consoles,  both can play the same games, one is more powerfull and 100$ less expensive... The choice is pretty easy. 

So i havent looked at the stats but i guess your referring to the fact that Sony's lead over Xbox this gen was the quickest one to find a large gap relative to other consoles? If thats what your claiming then i really have no idea, your probably right since im sure youve checked into it. 

 

Well for me personally one of the biggest things that influenced me 1 way over the other was Microsofts treatment and lack of disregard for its consumers so on that end im speaking from personal experience.
