I'm still unsure about the Scorpio. Is it an interim console like ps4 pro or a full fledged next gen model?

I suspect at some point the ps4 pro will become the only choice in the ps4 range once its cheap enough to drop to the equivalent pricing. Is that something the Scorpio can do?

Once the Scorpio is close to launch I suspect Sony will release teaser information about ps5 as a spoiler tactic as they did with ps2 when dreamcast was launched. At first it will be skeleton information and then a slow release of more details. I doubt Scorpio will perform well outside the usa. There just doesn't seem as much hype or interest in Scorpio, maybe it is perceived as the same type of product as ps4 pro even though a much greater performance upgrade. For the first time ever I saw the xbox one sold s/hand for less than £100. It was a deal on hotukdeals. That is a very mass market price.

I can't help wondering if Microsoft wouldn't be better off with a budget version of the xbox one for Christmas. Maybe a top loading £129 console rather than focus on the higher end with Scorpio. Maybe with a 3 month gold subscription thrown in. Something very stylish compact and available in multiple colours. I write that expecting the Scorpio to be quite highly priced and not mass market enough but again if it comes in at ps4 pro pricing that would be quite different but the liquid cooling and other spec information leads me to believe this will be an expensive product that will not only fragment the userbase but also not be a comfortable upgrade for many xbox one owners who may resent the weak versions of games they get compared to Scorpio and if a more powerful ps5 is known about during its launch months I can see it failing quite severely.

I just wonder if outpricing the ps4 wouldn't be a better option.
