To clarify I never believed it was going to work to begin with because the were a tonne of other factors and the Tories just used it as a chance to push those cuts through because that was always their intent regardless and if you're going to respond to someone else's post as well it helps to highlight that because otherwise the context becomes mixed up.

That's not really what i asked, but i guess it's as far as we'll get so thanks for clarify that much.

Maybe. It would be pretty sad though if people change their minds because of one incident.

If the latest attack does influence the election i don't think it'll be by much. Elections focusing on defence do usually benefit the Conservatives more, but Labour also have an easy out with the police cuts. I expect both parties will make small losses and gains.
