A return to the orignal Contra will be quite welcomed. I never got into the newer iterations of the series but the older titles were always solid fun to go back to, despite the bitching difficulty. Similarly, Contra 4 looks like it also was developed with the near impossible difficulty on top of the old-school visuals and gameplay.
Apparently the developers are the same people behind Ping Pals, a horrible pictochat type game, that received a cumulative score of 0.5/10 from EGM, and didn't fair too much better from other reviewers. Nice to see that they seem to be doing a good job with Contra 4 despite their track record.
