Technically no, but that mindset does cause people to want to prevent it or feel they have a right to say something or think less of me (I've seen threads from gay guys talk about how so many people come up to them when they do some form of harmless pda that would never happen to straight people). That mindset also causes people to think of gay people differently in life instead of seeing it as just another aspect of life. 

I just want the same rights and respect for doing what straight people do, no more and no less.

You can have the same respect and rights, but that doesn't mean people have to like seeing it.  If people are actually harassing people about it that's one thing, but if people just internally don't like it, there's really nothing to be done.  Trying to change people's impulse reaction to a sensory experience is a losing battle.
