It happens here in Japan with every non-ms console, but who am I to break the narrative?

Hint: even happened for the ultra successful WiiU.

The Switch has Zelda and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to drive the first few months and we've now seen the initial success so far. Then you have Splatoon 2 taking names in preorders (even selling out its preorders for the headset people maligned). Plus the news of MHXX being ported along with the anticipation of Mario Odyssey, FE Warriors, FE 2018, Dragon Quest, Xenoblade, SMT, etc. seems to continue the excitement. Not to mention the potential for Animal Crossing, Smash Bros., and Pokémon coming could utterly destroy in Japan.

And that has anything to do with what I said, how?

Here's why Japanese stores get lines and often lotto to win the chance to buy one: they have low stock.

Do you think people would be lining up if they could walk into their local mall and pick one up or pick one up in online for the rrp?

No, no they wouldn't. They line up because stock is scarce, it has.notbibg to do with popularity and everything to do with inadequate stock to sell to the people that want it.

It's always been this way in Japan, and it doesn't stop at consoles either, every low stock item gets sniper, he'll because of typhoons in Japan's potato growing capital, people were queuing to buy potato chips, and pizza flavor versions that you could normally buy in any store were selling on auction sites for upwards of $10,000 for a single pack.

And frankly, I can go to my local Aeon mall on a tuesday and the line for discounted eggs is just as long as the one in ops picture, too.

So I'll say it nice and clear, people queuing up for something in Japan means absolutely fucking nothing.

I mean, Look at this queue for some shitty lovelive! merch for christ sakes.
