Yes it is. Solar output variety is on an 11 year cycle while global warming keeps increasing. Ofcourse humans will cling onto anything when the opposite is complicated to understand and any slowdown of global warming during the downward spiral of solar activity is seen as proof it must all be a hoax. Just as looking for one easy thing to blame it all on, eg cattle or China, looking for one little thing to dispute it all is equally popular.

What we can do is nuke major volcanoes to spew tons of reflective particles in the atmosphere. That should provide plenty of cool fireworks in 4K coverage as well as getting rid of the damn things. It's not called nuclear winter for nothing after all :) /notserious however as an extreme comic book solution it would work!
