I don't know that much myself, but you do know a lot. One thing I do know is GTX 1080 is more powerful than Scorpio, also this powerful card deserves R5, i5 or R7, i7 processor. I try to game at 1620p, 1800p and 2160p 30 fps but I always come back to 60 fps @ 1080p or 1440p. |
The Geforce GTX 1080 soundly obliterates all of AMD's current GPU lineup. Without question.
A console that is using a GPU based on one of AMD's current GPU's isn't going to magically change that.
As for resolutions and framerate, for me it depends on the game. If it's a game with a fair bit of motion blur, non-twitch actions, then 30fps is fine... I prefer to push a higher resolution in those instances... Perfect example of this is Elder Scrolls. Good excuse to push the mods in my opinion!
If it's a twitch FPS shooter like Overwatch, Doom, Unreal Tournament, Call of Duty, Counterstrike etc'. 60fps is a must.
And it is a good thing they made a similar decision with Tekken 7. Sacrifice resolution to maintain 60fps.
I'm sure any performance differences on the Playstation 4 in regards to input lag will be ironed out in time.
