I remember seeing first concepts for phones with roll-out screens some 7-8 years ago - still waiting for them to actually show up, since the tech is still not quite there yet.

So I imagine something more or less like Switch (not that it's by any means the first tablet with controllers, but for the sake of discussion it's easier to refer to it since everyone knows how it looks), but without any actual processing hardware inside (other then for WiFi and similar stuff) and with roll-out screen tech - when you're home, you roll the screen in, when you're on the go and want to play, you roll it out.

I imagine any computer would need some sort of processor: hardware that processes a signal into a viewable format. That said, so you imagine smaller, lighter, and more versatile hardware coming in the future?

I meant no CPU/GPU type of SoC inside - just basic stuff for input, connection, displaying signal and other similar stuff - think something like what's inside WiiU's Gamepad.

So yeah - practically what you get as hardware is just an advanced controller, with some sort of rollable/foldable screen that can make controller smaller when needed for transport or home gaming.

Of course, while I don't think this is so far in the future, I don't think it's just around the corner either - but my guess would be 10 years at worst.
