The comparison was Shenmue to MH on 3DS, not XX on Switch.

Dunno if I'd bring shadows into it either, those are really, really rough on MH 3DS...

The gifs I posted are MH Generations (not even MHXX) which only has a 3DS version I didn't mention the switch at all so all those gifs are MHGen, the shadows are still better than Shenmue's which in a number of cases doesn't even give characters outside of Ryo shadows at all.
