See, I think a line needs to be drawn somewhere. We can't just keep allowing illegal immigration. However, nitpicking stories of illegals breaking laws is just dumb. There are millions of them here and a vast majority of them are hard workers who are desperately laying low because of their status. However, there are folks who'll find every instance of an illegal immigrant breaking a law to cast judgment on the lot. It's like, "See... This guy jumped a turnstile. He and the other 10 million illegals are all crooks!" I've never been the one for broad generalizations. Especially when it's so plain to see that (even though it is a problem) this is the least of our problems. I actually see posts like this on VGChartz more than actual political websites. It's sort of confusing. |
Technically they are all criminals because they are here illegally. They drive down wages and make jobs that Americans would work, jobs that Americans can’t work. Like I said in a previous post employers are not required to provide medical benefits to visa holders or illegals. Visa holders are supposed to make prevailing wage rates however illegals are not. Even at prevailing wage, the company saves money because they are not required to pay for benefits. That puts the American worker at a disadvantage because even at the same hourly rate the Visa employee costs the company less per year. In order to make the annual compensation equal the employer will need to lower the hourly wage of the American worker considerably to offset the cost of medical benefits. Now not only is the employee getting paid considerably less per hour than the visa worker, they are also required to pay their portion of medical benefits out of the earnings they make, that lowers take home income even more. Depending on the line of work you could be looking at a $20K+ difference in take home pay per year between an American worker and a Visa worker. We arent talking about just dishwashers and farm laborers here. Illigals make up most of those jobs and essentially have the same affect for the same reason, only the companies arent required to pay them a ertain prevailing wage which means they can go even lower.
