People buy Playstations and xboxs for both first and third party titles. 

Most people buying PS4 and XB1 for 3rd party games on 1st place (GTA, CoD, Fifa, NBA...), and seals of games proves that, just look at list of best selling PS4 or XB1 games, in top 10 best selling games for PS4 and XB1 you have one 1st party game and 9 3rd party games.
