I'm part Japanese.  Most of these places won't call themselves as East Asian or some other silly shit. Most of these places think of themselves as their country and not as asian. It's clear that most places don't go by outdated definitions of certain things. For example, the latin word for black. Meanings change. Maps change. It's idiotic to fixate on semantics when they're outdated.

Not sure how true that is. I'd assume it's more they think of themselves as from their own country first and foremost (as does literally most of the world), but they also won't deny that they are Asian. Similar to a Canadian saying they are Canadian, but not rejecting the fact that they are also a north American, or a Lithuanian also being an eastern European.

This exactly. I mean who the hell even thinks of Asia as outdated anyways? The continent of Asia is not an outdated concept by any definition of the world. Of cour, e most people think of themselves in regards to  their country and hell even their province or city but when explicitly asked they will say they are asian. I mean geographically if someone asks an arab and a japanese which continent they belong to they will say nothing but Asia. It is used for categorisation and we are all Asian whether some Japanese(I still think the person is American because I don't believe a Japanese to say stuff like this) vgchartz commentator says we are not or the term for the largest continent on the planet is outdated. Hell treaties are made based on continent like the European Union or treaties like SAARC or between mexico, USA and Canada. It is not outdated and is stupid for a vgchartz commentator to decide geography should work like they think

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also
