Sorry to hear that.
Silly question but, is your mobo BIOS/UEFI up to date? When I replaced my 5850 for the 1070 I had several blue screens and other troubles until I found a new UEFI that solved all the problems.

While that is true, it's worth noting that AMD has really catch up with Nvidia in the last year. Most of the time they're only one or two days later, and sometimes they have even launched them first.
