Is the Microsoft defense force trying to damage control this?
Even if you try to argue that Microsoft didn't know Sony's numbers or they made this statement before Sony released their numbers, how is that any better? Is lying any worse than making statements they don't know are true?

That is probably a false statement and a spin also. And if Microsoft doesn't know Sony's or Steams numbers why are they making such statements?

The statements that Aaron Greenberg and Phil Spencer make insult people's intelligence. They treat Twitter like a platform to build a fanboy following. The scary part is that journalist actually believe their crap and spread it.
